Stratford under 12's discovered some of their old form against Barkers Butts this Sunday. Both backs and forwards combined to display excellent skills in very muddy conditions. In the first match, Ollie Crabtree scored his first try of the morning supporting a great run from Harry Watts. William Roberts converted. Edward Beighton close to scoring but was unlucky near the line. The next score came from half backs, Short and Huckerby pressurising their opposing backs, giving possession to Adam Best to score. Stratford were leading 12 - 0 at half time. As Barkers Butts were one forward down, Kane Knight gallantly played for the opposition, promptly scoring against his team mates, full back Daniel Perry scored with a superb individual run down the wing, dodging a flailing Barkers defence, William Roberts again converted. Final score Stratford 19 - Barkers Butts 7.
Stratford started to dominate in the second match of the morning, all of the forwards combining well to provide superb possession which gave the backs the opportunity to flourish. Houlton at no 8 terrorised the opposition half-backs. Crabtree and Mylechreest combined well to give Martindale a scoring opportunity on the wing. Daniel Perry converted. Prop Wyles stormed up the pitch, the ball passing through Beighton and Huckerby to Crabtree who scored his second try of morning. Score at half time 12 - 0 Stratford were all over Barkers in the second half, Tom Boylan was unlucky not to score as he was judged in touch just before crossing the line. Ollie Bell quickly scored on the other wing which William Roberts converted. Ollie Crabtree got his hat-trick due to typical determined running through the Barkers defence and Ollie Bell got his second try of the morning to complete a good all round performance.
